Method

1. Preheat oven to 180°C and line a baking tray with baking paper.

2. In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar, 2 to 4 minutes.

3. Add the flour and a pinch of sea salt and mix to combine.

4. Using a tablespoon of dough, roll into balls and place on the prepared tray.

5. Use the tines of a fork to flatten slightly.

6. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until just golden.

7. Remove and cool for 20 minutes.

8. In another bowl, melt the chocolate in a microwave in 30-second increments until nice and smooth.

9. Drizzle the melted chocolate onto each cookie. Chill to set.

Top Tips

  1. Rather than dipping the cookies into chocolate, melt only 100g and using the tines of a fork, dip them into the melted chocolate and drizzle one way, up and down. Then cross-ways to create a really pretty criss-cross pattern.
  2. I often make these and after I have dipped them in chocolate, I roll them in chopped pecans. These make a beautiful gift for your children’s teachers. I bought cellophane bags, ribbon and tags and we filled the bags with beautiful cookies, wrapped with a pretty ribbon and wrote on the tag “Thank you” after dipping to give as gifts to my boy’s teachers, in chocolate
