For lactose and gluten free claims we comply with the following Australian regulation requirements:
Lactose Free: The food contains no detectable lactose.
Gluten Free:
The food must not contain:
(a) detectable gluten; or
(b) oats or oat products; or
(c) cereals containing *gluten that have been malted, or products of such cereals.
For dairy free; the recipe must not contain dairy ingredients.
For soy free; the recipe must not contain soy.
For validation of the lactose, gluten, dairy and soy free claims, Upfield ensures the recipes are tested on a regular basis according to a structured sampling plan to make sure the nutrients and ingredients are not present.
For vegan: the ingredients or processing aids used are not of animal origin, at no stage of production/process. Appropriate precautions are considered to avoid cross contamination if production line is shared with non vegan products/ingredients.
