A little change matters

2020 has been tough. We know that for many, it has meant incredible loss and hardship. Suddenly, basic expenses like food and rent can seem out of reach.

But when locals are in need, we believe in the power of the IGA community to create change. That’s why we’re partnering with Vinnies to raise money for the people in our local communities who need support.

Please help by buying a $2 IGA Appeal token or any specially marked Community Chest product at your local IGA. Your spare change really matters.

HOW WE’VE HELPED

McGrath Breast Care Nurse: Vicki Bell – Campbelltown, NSW

“Vicki has been AMAZING. So supportive through this whole nightmare. Helping us understand things ,so supportive during surgery, coming to see me in hospital and follow up calls, giving me so much information pre surgery- exercises, mastectomy bra, etc. I would be lost without Vicki” - Suzanna Ciol, NSW

“Fiona helped me to understand what was happening to me at each stage; offered other services i.e. head gear, travel sleeve, encore program. She was calm, kind & understanding & got my head straight. I don't think I would have made it without her”

McGrath Breast Care Nurse: Tania Bernhardt, Townsville, QLD

My McGrath nurse Tania truly is an angel. She is the most remarkable woman I know and I couldn’t have gotten through this journey without her. I’m so incredibly grateful that thanks to the McGrath Foundation I her beside me while I fight for my life and battle this horrid disease” Emma Wealleans, QLD

McGrath Breast Care Nurse: Sharon Shelford – Gympie, QLD

“My breast care nurse was more than adequate; she was excellent. Wealth of knowledge, took all the time needed to explain info & answer questions. Also, sharing knowledge of her updated skills with current lymphatic drainage course. Sharon is the most compassionate person & she loves her job. She went above & beyond call. I couldn’t have been more blessed”

McGrath Breast Care Nurses: Monica Jessop in Wagga & Eva Larson in Cootamundra / Young, NSW

“I had contact with 2 McGrath nurses one in Wagga where I had all my treatment; she was amazing & I couldn’t have done it without her. She came to all my chemo sessions. She then referred me to my local McGrath nurse at Cootamundra whom I have kept in touch with. She is truly wonderful, supportive, helpful & I would miss her terribly if she moved. No matter how sick, sore or frightened I have been, I have never felt alone”
